Ms. Richards from Brooklyn NY is requesting supplies through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need ink to print their wonderful essays. Many of my students do not have access to computers or printers outside of my classroom.

The pages are still blank, but there is a miraculous feeling of the words being there, written in invisible ink and clamoring to become visible. ~Vladimir Nabakov
My students, grades 6 and 7, are willing and eager to learn.
They love writing and publishing their essays for all to see on the bulletin boards. However, many of them do not have access to computers and printers outside of my classroom. In school, there is no technology lab for them to use, and for many, going to the public libraries are not a reality due to their many after school responsibilities.
With the ink, my students and I are requesting, they will be able to publish their essays to be viewed on bulletin boards around the school. My students spend a lot of time writing and editing their work , only for much of the written work to be graded and put away in a folder, unable to go on the bulletin boards because they are not typed. With the ink, my students will be able to share with, not just me or their classmates, but the whole school, their thoughts, ideas, claims, and arguments.
Donations to this project will improve my classroom because all of my students will have access to something that only very few typically do, that is computers and printers.
My students will be able to see their written expression (that they work so hard on) up on the board. Allowing my students to print their work from our classroom printer will give students confidence in their writing abilities and help them become even more profound writers.
