My Students

Weather can be such an abstract concept! Instead of simply memorizing terms or reading our textbook (the only resource in the classroom) I want my kids to experience weather as meteorologists. This Delta kit will help them greatly!

I have a great group of kids that are eager to tackle any challenge, especially interactive labs in Science.

They are very diverse group with about seven different nationalities as well as many different native languages. The income ranges of the students vary as well, ranging from poverty to upper income. They are a great group with many differences that allow all of us to learn more from each other.

My Project

This Delta kit will allow us to "experience" learning about weather than simply memorizing abstract concepts. The idea of weather can be a tough one to visualize without proper background knowledge, so with this experience through the kit, students can actually become meteorologists and add greater conceptual understanding to the idea of weather.

Having an interactive classroom with active science labs where students take on the role of being a scientist (in this case, a meteorologist) will create a more inquiry-based culture where my students will strive to want to know more and do more through their deeper content understanding of weather.
