"Hello! I am sixth grade ELD teacher at a Title One school in northern California. I have a self contained class of English language learners and they stay with me for their core subjects as well as an English language development class. All of my students speak and are learning English as a second language, and for this reason their class schedules ensure that they have extra attention focused on learning English.
Due to this reason, none of my students have an elective class of any sort. They do not have the opportunity to explore their creative minds outside the realms of their course curriculum. That is why I am trying to gather some fun and engaging art and craft supplies that they can have access to during their lunch time. I have a small group of students who already come in during their lunch periods because they feel more comfortable hanging out with one another. If they had these materials, I would also be able to provide them with something fun and creative to do while they eat their lunches and socialize. I see it as not only a good opportunity for the students to get to know one another and share work on a project together, but also to explore some creativity and have some fun.
I am requesting beading materials, doll making kits, paintable birdhouses and sailboats, and other crafting materials for this reason. Please keep my students in mind when making your selection. Thank you!
My project 14 different arts and crafts supplies.
The cost of this proposal is $693, which includes shipping for any materials requested and fulfillment ."

Dear Antioch Schools Education Foundation, andrew and Lenny and Christine,
Thank yo so much for these wonderful crafting materials! As a sixth grade teacher, I try to establish a good relationship with all of my students and therefore I leave my classroom open to them during lunch to come in and "hang out", socialize, play, and craft. This year I have been surprised at how even the boys enjoy coming in and doing some beading, so I am very happy to be receiving these wonderful materials that all of my students can enjoy and take advantage of to express their creative sides. As Mother's Day and Father's Day are both approaching, we will be creating gifts for parents, and working together to just have fun and get creative. Thank you so much for this donation! I Cannot wait to take pictures of what the kids create and send them for you to see.
Sincerely,
Mrs. R
