"Be the change you wish to see in the world" ~Ghandi I teach chemistry and physical science to high school students. We have so many students that we currently have to share and rotate science classrooms. Being a public school we only receive so much money a year and that usually is not enough to purchase classroom supplies, lab supplies, and then to buy a new set of goggles.

My students love to participate in labs and I love watching the figurative "light bulb" come on when they finally understand a concept. Science is a very hands on learning concept and our students need new goggles to be safe while they are learning and experimenting. My students need a classroom set of dependable and safe goggles. The goggles we currently use have stretched out bands (so the goggles slide off the students' faces) and the lenses are badly scratched. The students are constantly saying how uncomfortable the current goggles are and how they cannot see out of them due to the scratches on the lenses. Safety is my number one priority in my science classroom and I would love to be able to provide my students with goggles that are both comfortable and provide maximum protection for their eyes.

A new set of classroom goggles will allow our students to continue learning through labs safely. I won't have to worry about who isn't wearing their goggles as much and I can focus my attention on making sure the students have understood the concepts and learned.

I truly believe Ghandi's quote that you should be the change you wish to see in the world. I teach because I believe that one teacher can make a difference in one child's life. And that one child can make a difference in the world. Please help me be the change we wish to see in the world. Maybe one of these kids will find the cure to cancer if they discover a love of research and lab work!
