Projecting Better Science in the Classroom

My students need an LCD projector for the classroom in order to view animations and videos that are unable to be played by a VCR.

NEED A PROJECTOR. I teach Chemistry and Biology in a low-income inner city school district. I have students from grades 9-12 including new students, repeater students, special education students and ESL students.

I have tons of computer visual aids...BUT NO PROJECTOR!!! I taught as a long-term substitute at a suburban district with all the bells and whistles. When I left they gave me all of their digital resources on a few CD's. In my new district I have no way of transmitting these resources up on a screen because there is no LCD projector available to me.

That is why I am asking for an LCD projector for my classroom. How unfair is it for these students that I have to be slighted in their experience, all because the district is unable to provide the necessary equipment. With the LCD projector in my classroom, students will be provided with an elevated learning experience that was before, not available. The video clips and animations will enhance their comprehension of many of the core topics. I hope that with these additional resources available to my students, their level of success will increase as well.

So make a difference, help give these students the equipment they deserve, don't let all of my digital resources sit because there is no way to show them
