Learning on White Boards

My students need 30 individual white boards and dry erase markers for individual, small group and whole class learning activities.

I am aspiring to be a better teacher. I am doing my best to invent new and creative ideas to engage and involve my third grade class in learning. I teach all subjects, reading, math, science, social studies, cursive, life skills, social skills and everything in between. I try to do as many hands on activities as possible so that students are active in their learning. Several of my students are in the special education program and others are shy when it comes to class participation. I want them all to be able to feel comfortable about themselves and their individual learning needs.

My students need a chance to have the very best. We (the county, the school and teachers) supply what we can. Often that is not enough. I want my students to work to earn special activities and they seem to love new and different supplies that they can use! The more user friendly the better! I think they will work hard to use these white boards.

I believe that a simple classroom set of dry erase markers and white boards can help students learn in a very different way. They love to play games but often as children do, they become overly excited and it causes distractions to other students. By using white boards students can do the work on their own, in groups and use a minimal amount of socializing. It would also cut down on the amount of paper we waste.

You will make it possible for my students to get something that I believe will help enhance their learning. It will make my classroom more interesting and it can be something that the students can look forward to using.
