This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am my district's only French teacher. I teach French I, II and III to 8th-12th graders on two different high-need campuses. Being able to speak French is the number one goal in my classroom. I give an oral exam every grading period in the hopes that eventually they will be able to converse in French. My students do not have much exposure to anything French outside my classroom and thus, they often mispronounce words without even knowing it. Even after a student hears myself, their classmates and/or a CD pronounce a certain word correctly, they will still think they are pronouncing the word correctly despite the fact that they aren't! Digital voice recorders will solve this problem. Some students simply do not have an ear for the French language and it can be very difficult to pronounce French. I have to train them to speak French without their Texas twang. Voice recorders will help my students improve their French accent by being able to hear and correct themselves whey they pronounce the words incorrectly. Your help will ensure that my students will improve their French speaking skills with every use of the voice recorders. You will make it possible that my students can move on to the more advanced classes and succeed in them.
