We Can't Hear Anything!

My students need 20 Logitech headsets so that there will be enough of these types of headsets for everyone in each class.

Most of my students live below the poverty line, and are used to getting so little. I, however, think they deserve top grade computer equipment so that they will get a top grade computer education.

As of now, we just received 11 of these wonderful headsets. This is not enough for any whole class, but has made 11 students in each class very happy. The programs I'm using to help my students become better readers require clear recordings of their voices to recognize if they're reading correctly or not, and this hasn't worked for the rest of the students using the old headsets. They also complain about how uncomfortable the old headsets are. The older students have to pass the good headsets around to do recordings for their PowerPoint presentation recordings, and I'm not comfortable with them constantly plugging and unplugging the equipment due to wear and tear. A final issue is that they need to be able to access volume control on their headsets and not have to minimize their full screen programs to change the volume in the control bar. That's just too much to ask a 4-7 year old to do.

My solution to this problem is to equip the remaining 20 computers in my computer lab with these new USB Logitech Comfort Headsets. This will allow all of my older students to get a clear recording of their voices for their projects, and it will allow all of my younger students to use the voice recognition technology on our computers to help them become better readers.

My students are very caring towards the computer equipment, and toward the other students. The ones who get the new headphones are so careful with them. They are also always asking, "when is everyone else getting these headsets?" The ones who have the old headsets are always asking, "when do we get the new headsets?" My answer is always the same, "I'm working on it, I promise." I want everyone in my class to have the same opportunity, and right now, that's just not the case. You can make it so that all of my students are receiving an equal and high end education.
