Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach fifth grade to a group of diverse learners in a high need community. I try to incorporate different projects to motivate my students and allow them to exercise their creativity.

Many of the projects that I incorporate in my classroom have an element of research. Some of my students are able to go home and print additional resources to supplement their projects with pictures from the internet and or typed portions. However, not all of my students have access to computers at home and therefore are not able to incorporate computer technology in their projects.

We have one computer in the classroom available for student use. Due to budget cuts, however, the school is no longer able to purchase ink for the printer. So, while students are able to use the computer to practice typing and research on the internet, they can no longer print their resources.

This year, I have had to choose which additional resources I can personally purchase for my students. Although I would love to provide ink for my classroom printer, I have had to purchase other items. Your help in providing ink for my classroom will be truly appreciated and my students will be inspired to word process their projects and/or add illustrations. Thank you for your consideration.
