Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Are you looking for the perfect school to give a helping hand? We are the school looking for that same special someone! This multicultural diverse, inner city, enthusiastic and eager students are waiting to be discovered by you! I am the science teacher for these very students and I would love to help you become acquainted by giving them an opportunity to realize their dreams of a better education. These economically impaired, but very determined students love to find opportunities where they can utilize their skills and make a difference for their community.

We need to begin learning about chemistry and how things work. We have nothing to help us achieve this goal. We have been meeting during lunchtime last school year to learn basic concepts and figure out how some of these things work. It's rather hard when you can’t see them or know what elements actually are. We want to compete with other students in the area and have been working hard but need some basic supplies.

Chemistry kits, soil testing and water testing are things we want to do in our community so we can help to make the water healthy for our families, the soil safe to garden in and learn how we can make a difference right where we live. Even though we are children, we believe we should be learning how to be responsible citizens and looking for ways we can make things better for our community. These chemistry kits will help us to collect data and present scientific findings to community members and those who need to have this information in order to make appropriate changes. Learning these skills will also teach students the scientific process and develop skills that can later translate into job skills.

You can help us do just that by assisting us with funding for these items. You will be helping students who want to learn and improve their lives. Your future doctor might even be in this class. You could possibly be giving assistance to one of our first Martian astronauts. They are here, within these walls and you could help them to realize their dreams.
