I am a business education teacher and I teach children in grades 7-12. The location in which I teach is a high poverty area and the kids are mostly hardworking farm kids. The area that I am focusing this request on is my class of high energy 8th grade technology students.

Using technology in the classroom, whether in elementary or secondary school, is an expectation in the curricula of just about every grade level. Sometimes I feel at a loss as to how to do this. I know that if you make the experience fun, kids will want to participate. Integrating technology into the daily routine increases student participation and learning.

I am requesting this digital video camcorder because it will provide students with a tool that will enable them to create and share intriguing multimedia projects. Students can express their knowledge in a subject area in an engaging way. Motivation is seldom a factor when students use digital media to learn.

Your help will ensure that my students get the same chance to learn with the same tools that some of the more fortunate communities are able to provide. Thank you for your consideration of funding this request.
