I teach math and science for sixth grade. This is a Title I school, which indicates a low socio-economic population. We are located in the mountains of North Carolina.

My students are loving science this year. I have planned opportunities for experimenting with the hopes of creating excitement in these kids who formerly thought science was all in a textbook. We started off the year with each student planning a simple experiment that would answer a simple question. They came up with so many ideas, from dropping mentos into different sodas to measure the height of the explosion to flying paper airplanes of 3 different designs to see which was more aerodynamic. Unfortunately, we are lacking supplies. I encourage the students to plan experiments that require no cost but when it comes to safety I am unwilling to let them go unprotected.

The kids love explosions of any sort and I want to be sure that they are free to experiment in a SAFE setting! The most helpful item at this point would be safety goggles. My students need 30 pairs of safety goggles.
