Learn To Type with Mavis Beacon

My students need the "Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing" program to learn to type properly.

Beginning a new curriculum is exciting and challenging. I teach Middle School Special Education with an emphasis on the Life Skills students grades 6 through 12. My case-load includes 28 students. There are 6 full time Life Skills students. Our school district is fairly small with about 1,000 students in grades K through 12. The Life Skills class is beginning a new curriculum, which we are all very excited about. The students will be learning functional reading, computer skills, writing skills, time telling, money management, phone skills, budgeting and banking plus independent pre-vocational skills.

We are fortunate to be able to purchase the new life skills curriculum for our Life Skills class. We will need the supplies that go along with the curriculum. As this is a new class in our special education department we do not have the resources to purchase everything needed.

One resource needed for our new curriculum is "Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing." Being able to type on a computer is essential in today's world. Our students are unable to attend the Keyboarding classes provided by the regular education department. The opportunity to use the "Mavis Beacon" program in our classroom would benefit the students as they begin to write and send e-mail, type correspondence and use Microsoft Word and Excel.

Your help will make it possible for my students to learn to type correctly. The students will improve computer skills and have fun while learning!
