I am a pre-kindergarten teacher and I will be going to a new pre-kindergarten classroom in the fall. I am very excited to start teaching in this classroom and meet all my new students. Many students come to school excited to learn and play. Unfortunately many of them have never been in school before, nor have they been introduced to traditonal toys such as LEGOS. Children these days are being taught through electronic devices such as the television or video games. Their imagination is not being challenged or put to its best uses. One of the teaching toys that I believe is great for building skills and imagination are LEGOS. They help children learn no matter their age. For my students in particular, I want them to build on their fine motor skills. My students will be working with larger LEGOS (duplos) and then work on the traditional sized LEGOS. I want my students to create structures using their imagination, utilizing both the brick shapes, as well as adding animals, community helpers and different transportation vehicles. The best part is that these are small pieces so they can be placed in a safe spot to be finished at a later time. LEGOS are learnning toys that require children use all their senses to build and create. Your help donation will be helping the minds of young children grow and help their imagination reach its highest potential.
