Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach the eighth grade Physical Science class (180 students strong) at a middle school that is predominantly low income and a community with a high drop-out rate.

Our school and community do not have the funds to take students on field trips, nor can we afford technology on our own in order to take virtual field trips. In addition, our library cannot keep up with this constantly changing world. Most of our books contain information that is outdated.

Computers would serve as the vehicle that will allow our students learn outside of the box. They will be able to research ideas that would otherwise remain thoughts in their minds without the proper tools to do such investigations. They will be able to visit places around the world without leaving the classroom. They will be able to use this tool to record, research, and present their data from scientific investigations that they have conducted and present them in a new way.

You can make all the difference in the world for hundreds and perhaps thousands of students with this donation. You will be the force that helps me motivate students to think outside or the box and become innovators of this world we live in. Your donation is the precursor that will keep students engaged in school and will motivate them to reach higher in their academic careers. The opportunities are endless with the use of the right tools and you can make it possible.
