My classes of chemistry this year are so enthusiastic. Our school is in a rural area of the Mississippi Delta and services some of the poorest children in Mississippi. My Chemistry class is made up of 11th and 12th graders preparing for college. My school has a chemistry lab but it is not in working condition. We have very limited resources for this school year. I feel that it is my job to prepare my students for their future at college or work.

My school is in need of basic supplies for chemistry. We have a chemistry lab but it has very limited resources. My students are mainly 11th and 12 graders that are eager to learn chemistry. We are in need of energy sources so that we can preform several of our labs. These labs will allow my students to practice using energy sources,safety skills, and flame testing. My students have showed a great interest in doing lab activities and this equipment will make that a reality.

The main resource needed for this project is some type of energy resource and fuel to use in the energy source. I have picked the wickless ethanol lab because we can use it in our classroom. I feel that it is extremely important to send students to college well prepared. And with your help, my students will be allowed to learn several different skills that they will need in college. It is the greatest feeling to know that my students want to learn and are ready to have fun learning about chemistry.

With your contribution, you will be providing for rural students an opportunity that they would not otherwise have. The skills that this equipment will provide are priceless. You will make it possible for them to learn to use an energy source, observe lab safety, and identify ion metals by flame color. This project is one of the most important projects in chemistry. We are encouraging our students to go on to college and with your help, they will be prepared to follow their dream.
