Over weight, low self-esteem, poor eating habits are some causes that affect student learning. Wouldn't it be great if students understood healthy eating habits and how to prepare simple healthy snacks on their own?

The majority of the students in my class are from low income homes. They come to school hungry or they may have just finished eating a bag of chips for breakfast. My students need to understand healthy choices to eat and would like to create healthy snacks.

The students will need cooking tools and educational resources to learn and experiment with healthy food choices and preparation.

If our children keep making poor food choices, it will not only affect their learning but could affect their health later in life. They could have high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease or other illnesses because of their unhealthy food choices. Because of your contributions, you will be contributing to our future leaders and workers of America who will be able to make sound decisions because of their healthy lifestyles.
