I teach in a high-need community in rural New York. My students are not often exposed to the world that is around them and I want to use Global History and Geography as a way for them to experience that world.

My students do not always have the financial means to purchase books on their own. Many students in our district live in non-traditional homes and receive free/reduced lunch. This will be the only opportunity they have to receive these books.

By providing a classroom set of "The World is Flat" to my class, it will not only impact my current class but years to come. It will help them understand the world around them and better prepare themselves for college both through the high-level reading but also the content addressing the ever changing world.

Your help will ensure that my students are exposed to the world around them and make it possible for them to see that there may just be more to the world than our small rural town.
