Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember when you were learning your multiplication facts? Remember how confusing division could be? My students are facing these exact issues. I believe the Math Shark will be another strategy that will provide exciting, yet meaningful practice to the concepts we're learning.

My students are 8-9 year old third graders.

They live in a suburban area of Georgia. Our school is a K-5 school with a high population of low socioeconomic students. They work extremely hard and could benefit immensely from extra support and materials such as this engaging technology.

My Project

I am requesting eight Math Sharks to use during Guided Math centers. These products are hand-held devices that can help my students practice the following skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, and percentages. These devices can be used at differing levels depending on the child's strengths and weaknesses.

My project would add instructional support to my Guided Math centers.

Having engaging, meaningful, productive activities and resources for my students is the only way to help them reach their academic goals. I want my students to build a strong foundation in Math to be able to build upon it as they get older. Having these Math Sharks will help build excitement, confidence, and knowledge that will help these students grow, mature, and succeed in the future.
