Learning is Flipping Fun: Capturing Learning with a FlipMino

My students need 1 Flip Video camera.

Grades 3-5

Bringing history to life is the goal of this project. I teach 60, 4th graders at a school for gifted and high achieving students. My 3 classes are comprised of a variety of learning abilities and disabilities. My students are gifted, autistic, have Asperger's, OCD, and attention disorders but each is amazing and is ready to take social studies, science and learning in general to the next level.

60 of the best and brightest students in Middle Tennessee are ready to become the next successful directors, writers, journalist and producers. My students have shown an amazing interest and talent in technology, history & science.

More and more teachers are finding uses for the Flip Video Camera in the classroom. Because these little cameras are simple to use and relatively inexpensive they make a great addition to any classroom. The camera holds 2G of data and requires little effort to transfer to a computer. Here are a few ways we will use the camera: - Narrated field trips with students serving as guides - Interviewing other students, staff or community members - Digital storytelling projects - Capturing science as it happens - Demonstrating experiments _ Documenting debates and role playing scenarios - Students sharing "their world" - Taping presentations and reports and so much more.

Your help will ensure that my students reach their potential while learning the required Tennessee standards and other skills that will make them successful in middle school, high school, college and the work force. My students are digital natives and as a teacher it is my goal to engage them and reach them where they are and take them to the next level and beyond. Thank you in advance for supporting this project.
