My students need 12 more music stands so that everyone will be able to see the music when playing together as a group.

I am a music teacher that teaches kindergarten through seventh grade at an urban public charter school. This school year there will be a strings program, a band program, as well as general music. There will be opportunities for after school groups such as chamber orchestra and jazz band.

Currently we have six music stands for twenty-five students. These stands can be used for band and orchestra. The students are excited to learn to play new instruments, but they need the resources to be able to do so.

We need 12 music stands to add to our 6 so that our students will be able to share a stand with one other person and not three other people. Two to a stand is a lot better than four to a stand! This way the students will be able to see their music and play together as a group. Plus, the students will be less distracted if fewer students are having to share. By having more music stands, they will be able to follow the teacher's cues while simultaneously looking at their music. This would allow for students to stay on task more of the time which will allow them to learn faster!

Your help will make it possible for my students' creativity and talents to grow as well as their love for music! By helping the future generation find their love for music, they will be able to continue this tradition of sharing from one musician to another.
