Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

In 1st grade, students are learning about the basic and essential math skills of addition and subtraction. I am a 1st grade teacher of low-income students with a high English Language Learner population. My students need a lot of repetition and practice to master essential skills.

My current students have shown great enthusiasm in learning to add and subtract, but lack the materials to continue their enthusiasm in the classroom.

My students need addition and subtraction practice centers, games and math mats, as well as a number line activity chart. They also need 25 write and wipe markers to use at these activity centers. The materials I chose will allow me to set up a variety of math centers in the classroom. This will provide students with the continued practice and support they need to master these skills.

Your help will ensure that my students will leave first grade with a strong math foundation that will enhance and supplement their future studies as they continue their education.
