The Owl's Nest: Where Books Fascinate and Inspire

My students need 51 interesting, amusing, and enriching books from which they will cultivate a love of literature and learning.

My classroom is a safe haven in which students grow academically, emotionally, socially and physically through exploration and discovery.

Many students are discouraged as readers because they have not gotten their hands on the right books just yet. I am convinced that I can captivate even the most dispirited student if I have the right tools. Books have the power to take my students to far away places, inspire their writing and illustrations, make them laugh and broaden their dreams.It is my goal to help every student love to read by sharing with them books that are amusing, attention-grabbing and thought-provoking.

In order to do this, I need books! I need a sampling of first-class authors, exceptional illustrators, enchanting characters and series that leave the reader wanting to read more! I want a library that will give my students a taste of marvelous books that will cause them to want to go to the library and check out other books by the same author or the same illustrator. I want to whet my students appetites for reading.
