Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Thanking you in advance. With your help, my 18 kindergarten students of English as a Second Language class will be motivated and excited because of the instructions with the new musical CDs and game materials. I teach at an inner city school and the building is 45 years old. I have eager to learn students whose families fall into the economically low-income range. Approximately sixty-three percent of the 466 students at my school are Hispanic; thirty-seven percent are African-American. Ninety-eight percent of the students qualify for free or reduced lunch. The school is surrounded by a mixture of single-family homes, apartment projects, abandoned buildings, churches and undeveloped land.

My students on a daily basis face obstacles. Our school has very limited funds. Each child has dreams and desires to be successful. Many of them need more basic reading, math, science, and social studies skills to add to their foundation to build on for success.

I desire for them to have fun learning in a highly motivated environment with experiences with fun, effective, and exciting learning materials for listening, reading, math, science, and social studies. They will use these items on a daily basis during whole group, small group, and individual instruction time. Mastery of the skills is the goal. This will improve their current performance. As their teacher, I wish to guide them on a positive educational path. The learning materials will solve the problem of costly supplies for low income families in a low budget school and motivation to learn.

With your help, my students will be highly motivated learners in an exciting classroom, with a wonderful teacher, and engaged friends. Your donation will make it all possible.
