This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Yay!!!!!!!!!! Recess!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But, hey, wait! Where is the ball? This is the reality of my students who have little to no sports equipment to use during recess. It is very disappointing for 4th graders, especially 4th graders who live in a low-income, somewhat dangerous neighborhood. Why? Because their only opportunity to run around is during school, since their parents don't feel comfortable letting them play outside of where they live. Fortunately, this problem has a solution. Let's get them some sports equipment! Study after study has shown that students who get daily exercise are more attentive in school not to mention more physically healthy. Though exercise is possible without sports equipment, it is much less fun and therefore less inviting to students who are not naturally athletic. Please help by funding this project for basketballs, soccer balls, footballs, gym balls, jump ropes and equipment bags to be used by 50 fourth grade students. Just think of it, 50 fourth graders joyfully running, playing, shouting, singing, and jumping with the equipment that you helped get them. Isn't it a beautiful sight?
