Teaching music in NW DC at a charter elementary school is exciting! This will be the second year of existence for the music program, and I have planned a lot of exciting challenges for the students. The students will be learning and performing world drumming ensembles.

There's just one slight catch: to be able to really perform the ensembles, we need to complete our inventory of instruments. I'm thankful to say that I have the majority of the instruments that are needed; however, we need some additional percussion instruments to fill out our sound and perform the ensembles. These will add a lot to our sound and our learning.

We need cowbells (and who doesn't need more cowbell in their life), guiros, shekeres (Nigerian shakers), claves, and maracas. These are the typical African and Latin instruments that you see percussion players playing in any concerts or jam sessions. With these instruments, the students will learn more than just the drums and also be able to play awesome, authentic world music!

Please help us complete our ensemble of instruments. These instruments will mean a revolution to what we will be able to achieve in music class this year. More Cowbell!
