Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My students are becoming excellent readers. Not only are they becoming great readers...they WANT to read! I wish I had a classroom library with enough books for each of my students to have at least 3 books at any given time for free reading. I am requesting some Eric Carle books, and other great authors to help enhance my reading program. With these books my students will be able to read them orally and then tell me all about them through illustrations or retelling. This is a great way to build their comprehension skills, and fluency. I would appreciate your support in supplying my students with books to read. I know they will excel in reading and speaking with your support. I tell them daily that in order to become good readers they have to practice reading. I hope I can provide enough books to help them achieve! I teach 2nd grade in a Title I school. Our school is made up of 43% Hispanic students and 60% free and reduced lunch. My classroom is made up of 15 of the 18 free and reduced lunches. Thank you and God bless!!!!
