I work with Kindergarten students in the computer lab. The students love to draw and listen to stories.

My school does not have a scanner. I know that Kindergarten students can easily scan their pictures they draw to retell and illustrate stories. This may inspire them to become authors and illustrators someday.

My students need a printer/scanner to complete this project. The class will work together to retell and illustrate a book. Each child will draw a different scene from the story and scan their picture. The scanned pictures are inserted into iMovie and each child will retell their own page of the story. Music and credits will also be added. The project will be burned to a DVD so the class may listen to their story anytime and each student may take it home to show their parents.

Your help in funding this project will help students learn 21st century computer skills. The project engages the entire class and makes storytelling fun. It will also keep parents informed of projects the students are working on in Kindergarten.
