I am a fourth grade teacher at a title I school. Each grade level services about 125 students with a varied of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. We are a year round school so our materials are used by 1/3 more students than a typical elementary school. Our classrooms share everything and materials run out quickly. Our children are bright and enthusiastic learners who LOVE science. Our school needs more resources to teach science to as many students as possible using hands-on real inquiry methods. We need science kits to support our students and the curriculum. The science kit is a comprehensive program that includes lab investigations which are integrated with math. There are supportive language arts materials and activities as well. The science kits allow our students to do "real" science. I'd like to insure that all of our students are scientifically literate by the time they leave our elementary school. Having plenty of kits available to all grade levels would assist our students and teachers in reaching our goal.
