Team Overview
The Partnerships & Business Development (PBD) team designs innovative philanthropic partnerships with corporations and foundations. This team is responsible for generating $24 million in classroom project funding, often through award-winning cause marketing campaigns with partners such as HP, Bing, Sonic Drive-In, Crate & Barrel, Groupon and American Express.
Position Overview
The Partnership Manager will support the development efforts of a 4-person team and report to the Vice President, West Region. Core responsibilities are as follows:
Partnership Management, Administration & Project Management
· Identify, research and seek out potential partners
· Lead and manage $50-$100K partnerships and renewals (corporate/foundation)
· Develop project plans for corporate and foundation partners in Excel and execute
· Administer our managed giving programs including – Project Funding, Double Your Impact, Almost Home, Gift Cards, Employee Giving
· Submit and monitor requests to the technology team to launch and update website-based programs for partners
· Support timely social media and communications regarding partner campaigns
· Research existing donors and meeting notes to ensure maximum giving potential of each funder
· Create and maintain partnership records in our customer relations database, Salesforce, including contact and relationship records and logging of ongoing email, call and meeting notes
Grants Management & Reporting
· Oversee efficient spend-out of grant funds and assembly of classroom feedback for donors
· Write and assemble compelling proposals and grants for foundations and corporations
· Structure, analyze and manipulate data for grants, media requests, board meetings
· Create detailed, comprehensive program reports including classroom feedback and impact metrics
External Relations
· Accompany West team members on partnership meetings and represent DonorsChoose.org at external networking events on an occasional basis
Position Qualifications

· A college graduate with up to 2-3 years of work experience (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required)
· Highly organized, detail-oriented, results driven and motivated by project management
· Able to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
· A strong verbal and written communicator
· A problem-solver with a customer-service orientation and strong analytical skills
· Comfortable with tasks relating to administration and office management
· Adept with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, and willing to learn new software programs
· Entrepreneurial in spirit with the ability to work in a self-directed, fast-paced, start-up like environment with aggressive growth plans
· Excited to take on challenges with a sense of humor. Bonus points given to kickball players, karaoke singers and Colbert Report watchers.
