HELP!!! A Clean & Technology Enriched Classroom Is Needed...
My students need cleaning supplies such as clorox spray, a mop, paper towel, toilet paper, and tech supplies such as a laptop, a printer, printer ink, and printer paper.
For most of my students, school is a safe haven that provides a lot more than education. It is their home away from home, where they learn, work, laugh, cry, write, calculate, interpret and grow up!
My students are an amazing group of economically disadvantaged 4th grade students.
With this population, these students are unfortunately at-risk to high crime, poverty, homelessness, unemployment, poor health, poor fitness and poor nutrition, all patiently waiting for them outside of the school gates. Building knowledge of healthy social emotional behaviors and resiliency strengthens student assets and increases coping skills. I attempt to expose them to as much as I can in the time that I am with them. In many cases, this exposure is not limited to curriculum. I am also a model and a teacher of many life skills that students need to acquire in order to be successful in and outside of the classroom. Unfortunately, the majority of my students come from homes of chaos and disorganization with very little, if any, rules or routines.
My Project
As a teacher, I am responsible for creating a space that reflects the learning goals of the work space, the personality, interests and age of the students who learn there, and to create a space that is a comfortable and productive learning environment for all. When a child accesses their environment, it should be clean, organized and smell fresh. Every item should be neatly placed and organized. The cleaning materials will be used to ensure each child in my class has the opportunity to experience a clean, organized and germ free learning environment. The cleaning supplies will be used to sanitize and get rid of any germs that are in the classroom on the furniture and floors because the students are using the floor and desk daily. The technology supplies, printer and laptop will be used to create a technology space in the classroom for typing, creating PowerPoint presentations, researching information, and printing information. The printer ink and paper will be used in the printer.
Please help me to give them this clean learning environment that they so desperately need.
These materials are much needed and will help create a clean, refreshing and organized environment for my students to learn, grow, and play.
