My Students

My students are ones that are exploring areas of STEM. Being in a small rural area, they are not exposed to some of the same things as urban schools so we are trying to fill this need and they are absorbing it like a sponge.

Our school is one that literally sits in the middle of a cornfield and has students from 5 different communities.

These students are inquisitive and do not have some of the same opportunities as the students going to urban schools. So our STEM class is being used to help them explore areas that they may not be familiar with.

My Project

This item will be used across campus from Preschool through High School. Our plan is to have the High School STEM class "teach" the elementary students about coding. By doing so, the hope is that the excitement for coding will become contagious. This will be a good project for both the elementary and high school students to focus on coding.

Providing us with this equipment will give us the opportunity to explore coding in a new way.

It will also assist us in team building among our students. This will go beyond a textbook and make for a fun learning environment.
