This spring, Bank of the West will be working with DonorsChoose.org to donate at least $500,000 to classrooms in their branch footprint.
This campaign will fund projects from hundreds of teachers and expose dozens more to additional sources of funding via other DonorsChoose.org donors. If your classroom needs resources (notebooks, pencils, calculators, you name it!) let us know by submitting your request on DonorsChoose.org by February 24th.
Teachers: Get Started Now!
- Log into your DonorsChoose.org account. (If you’re new to DonorsChoose.org, you can learn more and sign up at www.donorschoose.org/teachers.)
- Submit requests (for up to $800 in materials) to help support your students. Request must be submitted by February 24th to be considered for funding.
- If your project qualifies for Bank of the West funding, you’ll be notified around mid-March with additional details. If not, never fear – it’s still eligible to be funded by the thousands of citizens, companies, and foundations that support teachers on DonorsChoose.org each year!
See a list of all eligible cities here.

this is a great opportunity for teachers in the communities that are eligible. I have a question. I work at a school in a rural town outside of Sacramento. Sacramento is listed as one of the cities eligible but the rural town I work in is not. Does that mean my projects wouldn’t be eligible for funding from Bank of the West?
Thanks for your help,
Paula Ramsay

It’s wonderful to be supported by such a generous gift. It speaks volumes of the company to stand up for education when all other funding seems to be going down.

Does anyone know if we have to have points available to spend in order to submit a project for Bank of the West?

How were the cities chosen? It appears all the cities surrounding the one my school is in are included, but mine is not.
