This holiday season you can SHOP, SAVE, and GIVE technology to classrooms with Next Jump! For every dollar spent on Next Jump’s discount site OO.com, the company will donate one WOWPoint reward to SA500 Kids, the fundraising campaign to fulfill teacher’s requests to bring technology to public school classrooms on DonorsChoose.org!

At OO.com, shoppers can earn WOWPoints rewards towards future purchases, and automatically donate one WOWPoint per dollar spent directly to public school classrooms!  WOWPoints are earned by shoppers on every transaction, never expire, and can be redeemed towards free purchases or turned to cash.

Since the launch on November 25th, more than 13.2 million WOWPoints have been raised on OO.com and 293 projects have already been funded.

Next Jump is dedicated to grooming future generations of engineers who might one day attend SA500, the epic East Coast engineering recruitment event which inspired SA500 Kids. The goal of SA500 Kids is to expose children to technology as early as possible so they can one day grow up to fill those roles.

Next Jump is on trend to fund thousands of technology projects on DonorsChoose.org, making it a very bright holiday season for thousands of classrooms around the country.

  • Is there are cap on the amount of the project? I’m hearing $2,000. However, the post above states a project of $14,000 has been funded. Please clarify if there is a capped amount per project. How long once posted to DC does the project appear on OO.com?

  • Hi Lisa,

Thanks for your question! All projects requesting technology as a resource, containing the keyword “technology” in the project request, and with a total cost under $2,000 posted on DonorsChoose.org will automatically appear on http://www.oo.com/sa500kids and will be eligible to receive votes on that site.

Previously there was no total cost limit to the projects featured on OO.com, and if projects totaling over $2,000 have received votes those projects will remain eligible on the site.

Projects posted on DonorsChoose.org should show up on OO.com within 24 hours.

    Thanks again for your question!

  • I’m very disappointed in this mid process restriction. I submitted a project to DC (special request) and it was reviewed and sent back to me for additional detail. I cannot help but think this was the reasoning considering I have written 40 projects and have had at most 3 project early in the process sent back. I would not have written such a dream project had I known of these limitations prior to entering. I’m a very thorough person who does her homework prior to jumping head first into something of this magnitude. Also, I find it surprising this has been running since NOV and the limit per project restrictions are just now being determined. My thoughts are the restrictions should have applied at the beginning of this process, NOT in the middle. I’m very discouraged at losing my 6 points (the project will have to be removed) and gearing my family, friends, and co-workers up to vote only to have to go back and undo all my hard work. My district was even on board with this. My project would have posted last night had it gone through and it would have been on the OO.com website. VERY SAD :(

  • Hi Lisa- Thanks for sharing your thoughts. As always, we appreciate it. I’ve just sent you an email that I hope will address the specific concerns you raised about your project.

As an update for everyone, our team is working closely with OO.com to implement an exciting solution that will allow them to move forward without a firm $2000 cap on project cost. Stay tuned for a follow-up blog post with more details on this partnership, as well as an outline of the new site features they’ll be implementing. We’re excited to share this new information with you once it’s been finalized!

  • How soon does our Donors Choose account show as funded after we have been funded through this program?

    Comment by Mrs. D — December 17, 2011 at 2:22am

  • Hi Mrs. D – thanks for your question and all that you do for your students!

If a project is showing up as “funded” on OO.com, it may take between 24-48 hours to receive funding on DonorsChoose.org. Thanks for your patience and for your support!
