This Friday, December 16, our awesome friends at YouTube are going to hold a Holiday Giving Flash Mob… They won’t be dancing or pretending to be frozen in Grand Central Station (that we know of), they’ll just be funding as many projects as they can! It’s such a fun and generous idea, and we’re so excited to team up with them.
Help them mob us for good by picking a project you’re passionate about on the site, and donating to it.
And be sure to check out Charles Best’s message to the participants:

Many of you have noticed our exciting partnership with OO.com, a Next Jump company. Through this partnership, Next Jump is supporting critical technology projects on DonorsChoose.org and inspiring the next generation of engineers. As you may have also noticed, this partnership has evolved since it first launched in November, leading to many exciting changes on www.OO.com/SA500Kids.
As a pioneering technology company, Next Jump is continuously creating, tweaking, and innovating. In the words of their Founder and CEO, Charlie Kim, “We have a culture of innovation, and the ability to experiment is key in our investments.” These investments include SA500 Kids and Shop Save Give on OO.com.
This philosophy and approach explain an upcoming change that will impact the way voting works on www.OO.com/SA500Kids. To make sure our teachers and their supporters know what to expect, we’ve published full campaign details in our Help Center, along with information about this upcoming voting change. We’ll continue to add details to that page as we learn more, so stay tuned!
We’re grateful for the passion that DonorsChoose.org teachers and the Next Jump team display to bring technology into more public school classrooms across the country.
This past fall DonorsChoose.org posted a company profile on InternMatch, seeking winter interns. A few weeks later we were matched!
Here is our Logistics and Business Relations Intern, Joesph, in his own words:
While I am an intern and not a full-time staff member, I have been given real projects and been able to play a significant role in DonorsChoose.org’s mission to best serve teachers and their needs. Analyzing this data helps the organization make more informed decisions about how to get the right resources at the lowest possible cost.

This holiday season you can SHOP, SAVE, and GIVE technology to classrooms with Next Jump! For every dollar spent on Next Jump’s discount site OO.com, the company will donate one WOWPoint reward to SA500 Kids, the fundraising campaign to fulfill teacher’s requests to bring technology to public school classrooms on DonorsChoose.org!
At OO.com, shoppers can earn WOWPoints rewards towards future purchases, and automatically donate one WOWPoint per dollar spent directly to public school classrooms! WOWPoints are earned by shoppers on every transaction, never expire, and can be redeemed towards free purchases or turned to cash.
Since the launch on November 25th, more than 13.2 million WOWPoints have been raised on OO.com and 293 projects have already been funded.
Next Jump is dedicated to grooming future generations of engineers who might one day attend SA500, the epic East Coast engineering recruitment event which inspired SA500 Kids. The goal of SA500 Kids is to expose children to technology as early as possible so they can one day grow up to fill those roles.
Next Jump is on trend to fund thousands of technology projects on DonorsChoose.org, making it a very bright holiday season for thousands of classrooms around the country.

Over the past month we’ve been working with ABC Family to champion some really cool high school students and teachers. Their new program, Bright Students, Big Ideas has been dramatically changing classrooms from St. Louis, MO to Robbins, NC.
ABC Family’s new program, Bright Students, Big Ideas!, is helping high school students get the funding they need to bring their projects to life. Since launching their Double Your Impact offer, they’ve funded over 98 student-generated ideas, and there are lots more great ones that still need additional support.
ABC Family believes that everyone has the power to think big! So get your creative juices flowing and get started at www.abcfamily.com/brightstudents!

New York City high school science teacher Theresa Stanley has been helping her school get much-needed supplies in a somewhat unorthodox way. For an entire month, she’s been “growing” a Mustache. Every day, her students choose what style her Mustache will take, and she draws the chosen style on her upper lip.
Now that is a Mustache.
She’s already completed two classroom projects, and is working to complete a third. Help her support more kids by donating to her Mustache.

Lizzie O’Leary, a Washington D.C.-based correspondent for Bloomberg Television, and Rachel Sklar, Editor-at-Large at Mediaite, share a birthday – December 8th!
To celebrate their birthdays, Rachel and Lizzie created a “Beltway To The Big Apple to the Bayou” birthday fundraiser to help students in need at DonorsChoose.org.
They are asking their friends, family and Twitter followers to support classroom projects in their home cities of NY and DC, and in New Orleans, where they met and became friends. Their goal is to raise $5,000, so please help them out!
Also, for people who give over $100, they will do a funny shout-out on Twitter. You can watch the action on their Twitter accounts: @rachelsklar and @lizzieohreally.
