Bing is partnering with DonorsChoose.org for their first ever Earth Day Photo Contest. Students from around the country will compete to have their very own photo take over Bing’s homepage on Earth Day. Bing users will vote for their favorite photos while also supporting DonorsChoose.org projects

Starting March 29th, students are invited to submit their best photo celebrating the 40th anniversary of Earth Day. Students can submit one (1) photo at www.earthdayphotocontest.com and finalists will be selected in four age groups (ages 5-10, 11-13, 14-17 and 18+). During the final round, Bing will reward people who vote for their favorite photo, while rewarding DonorsChoose.org at the same time! Bing is giving a DonorsChoose.org GivingCard to the first 20,000 voters per day! So each day of the voting (April 13 – 19th) phase there’s a new opportunity to get a new GivingCard.  The winning photo will be featured on the Bing homepage on April 22.

In addition to the grand prize winner seeing their photo on Bing.com, Bing has pulled together some great prizes for both students and their schools. Winners across the four age groups will receive a trip for two to the Microsoft Campus to take part in a Bing editorial team meeting where Bing picks images for future homepages. Additionally, each winner will receive equipment from HP and Canon to help build digital photo resources at their school. Prizes for individual winners and their schools across the four age groups will total over $70,000.

  • 1st place prizes: Individuals receive an HP Pavilion desktop and monitor and a “Digital Photo Lab” for their school.
  • 2nd place prizes: Individuals receive an HP Pavilion desktop and monitor and a “Digital Photo Kit” for their school.
  • 3rd place prizes: Individuals receive an HP Pavilion desktop and monitor and a “Digital Photo Starter Set” for their school.

We’re excited about Bing’s commitment to helping students and teachers by providing outstanding tools for learning and exploration.

We cannot wait to see all of the great photos from DonorsChoose.org students!

  • Donors Choose gave my students on Staten Island new choices that would of never been available to them if not for all the generous donors who participate
in this program. It is such a high knowing that people do care about my special education students who may have different needs. Thank you all once again.

    Sincerely

  • Donors Choose has been a dream come true for my classroom. I would like to challenge all my friends that love their jobs and the children we teach. Due to budget cuts my district is losing wonderful people. If we can fund our classrooms why can’t we think of some creative ways to save jobs? My principal for instance. He is simply amazing and we are going to lose him. Come on…lets figure this out? What good will our materials be if we double the size of our classrooms and lose the movers and the shakers? HELP!
