I teach 9th grade World Geography. At my high school, even though we have a high poverty rate, we as teachers and administration have been successful and raising the bar for our kids. Our kids make it easy because they work so hard. It is our job to encourage students to take those 8 hours of school and have some fun and pride in learning. The Freshman Academy, in which I teach, is used to combat drop-outs and retention by giving the kids a sense of belonging.

About my class
