My students come from a school that is in a high-crime, high-poverty area. Along with the rest of the state, they are severely impacted by budget cuts. In spite of this, my students come to school ready to learn and eager to show what they know. They are highly-motivated. They love to read and I often have to "raffle off" first pick of a new book. This year, my students even initiated their own book club!
